Best Wing Surfing Spots in Miami: A Local’s Guide

Best Wing Surfing Spots in Miami: A Local’s Guide

Our Top Wing Surfing Spots in Miami

Miami is hands down one of the best places to wing surf. It’s got everything—steady winds, calm bays, and beautiful ocean views. Whether you’re leveling up your skills or scoping out a new spot, Miami has locations that stand out from the rest. Let’s break down the top spots and what makes them unique.

Note: Ride responsibly and never ride in swim areas or crowded beaches. Miami has tight regulations for ktiesurfing and we want to keep wingfoil open and free. It only takes one mistake so don't be that person.

Never ride here without taking proper lessons before. You can reserve lessons here.

Biscayne Bay

What You Need to Know

Hobie Beach and Virginia Key are the two spots we love. Biscayne Bay is one of the easiest places to wing surf in Miami, thanks to its calmer waters. Bays like this are typically more forgiving than ocean spots, but they can still get a bit choppy on windy days. The bay benefits from the Bahamas’ natural wave protection, which keeps the swells smaller than what you’d find on most of Florida’s coastline. That said, new riders should stick with lessons and follow their instructors’ guidance to get the most out of this spot.

Why It’s Worth a Visit

This is where you go for easy cruising and a chill vibe. Picture yourself riding with Miami’s skyline in the background—Biscayne Bay doesn’t just feel good; it looks amazing too. If you’re ready to take the leap from lessons to self-practice, this is your spot.

The parking here is easy and you should be able to find a spot well enough. This is worth noting as most of Miami is brutal when it comes to finding a spot.

Crandon Park

What You Need to Know

Heads up: you will need a membership to ride here and membership fee. This is hub for windsports in Miami so it's worth considering if you want to meet new friends.

The Scene

You’ve got the natural beauty of the coastline paired with a laid-back community feel. Crandon Park is great for riders looking to step up their game while enjoying Miami’s tropical surroundings and those who want to mingle with the local community.

There are rules to follow and a local shop. the parking lot is massive so it's a good option for riders with larger vehicles looking for ease of parking. Many Miami locations do have smaller limited parking spaces.

North Miami Beach 76th street.

What You Need to Know

This is a chill beach with small small waves and ample deep water. North beach is a nice part of the city with a smaller town feel and less of a party vibe.  This is our favorite spot.

The Vibe

This isn’t just a wing surfing destination; it’s a full Miami experience. Ride the waves, then step off the beach into a buzzing world of restaurants, cafes, and nightlife. If you’ve got the skills, this spot is unbeatable for energy and action.

The parking can be limited on the weekends but the week days are generally okay.
