Waydoo Evo Scooter Kit Review
The Waydoo Evo Scooter Kit is the newest accessory that is only adaptable for the Waydoo Evo model boards.
Which Waydoo Evo Board is the Scooter Kit for?
It is first important to note that the scooter kit is meant too be mounted on the Evo Max 130L board. The smaller Evo Pro and Pro Plus Models with not work well as you will have to start in an upright standing position so you need a board with enough volume to float standing upright. The Scooter kit also comes with the Flyer Pod which gives you double the float and stability.
The primary use for the scooter kit is to easily get beginner riders learning fast and safely.
For our first session our beginner rider rode a standard Waydoo Efoil once and got to her feet briefly but when we put her on the Scooter Kit she got right up and even got onto a foil right away! When learning to efoil you first go up and down on the foil “dolphining” without the handlebars its rather easy to nose dive in. The scooter kit allows you to hit the water and immediately recover without falling.
The added benefits for experienced riders would be being able to ride without even getting wet even when coming to a complete stop. We think the scooter kit would really be useful as a tender for bigger boars and yachts.
Turning with the handlebars is safer and easier. If the rider start to fall they are able to use the handlebars to push them selfs away from dangerous parts of the board, the foil and the propeller. This allows the rider to more comfortably turn sharper without fear of falling into the foil.
In the end we found the Scooter kit very useful for riders looking to get up and riding with very little instruction and still be safe.
For intermediate riders we find it to be most helpful for cruising and putting around. This really makes it more like a personal watercraft. Putting around or for those times you want to stay dry.
