Waydoo Evo Pro Plus Review

Waydoo Evo Pro Plus Review

The 90L Waydoo Evo Pro Plus is our new favorite eFoil, and for good reason. We started teaching eFoiling a few years ago with the original Flyer One, and this latest release excites us. Several board choices are available, but one model stands out to us. We love this board for our school and our personal use here in Miami on windless days.

If you want to know more about the Waydoo Evo board range, you can read a couple of comparison blogs. The first is the beginner boards, the Waydoo Max vs the Waydoo Pro. If you're experienced, you can read about the Waydoo Pro Plus vs. the Master Plus.

We also have a complete buyers guide breaking down on the components you can use to configure your board.

We were able to help test these boards for the official photoå shoot and get some real experience before their initial release here in the USA. Each model shines in its own way, and we'll review them in depth as we get more time on each board. This review will focus on the pros and cons you can expect from the 90-liter Waydoo Evk Pro and Pro Plus.

Why you'll want this board.

The 90L board is the sweet spot for performance without sacrificing ease of use or becoming too cumbersome. It's easy to store, carry, or transport, and we have a lot of fun with these dimensions on the water.

Waydoo Evo Pro Vs. Flyer One Plus

The 90-liter EVO is smaller than the Flyer One Plus and has less swing weight. We love it for its maneuverability and playful feel on the water. The new deck pad is nicer on our knees and feet and interesting. If you're using the Plus model with flight assist, it's actually easier than the larger, more buoyant Flyer One Plus!

One benefit we love is the pumping performance in the wake or waves. Living in Miami, we don't exactly get the best waves, but foiling them is a lot of fun. The Evo PRO pumps more efficiently.

Best price to performance value.

Waydoo has always been the best price point for eFoil, but the Evo Pro is an upgrade on the water with the pricing we all appreciate in this economy. We highly recommend the Evo Pro Plus model if you are new. The flight assist will make a big difference and reduce your learning curve by hours. Everyone learns at a different pace, and we find younger or athletic riders learn much quicker.

The Plus model with flight assist makes the experience faster and easier for our students who need more time. The main benefit here is that you can learn quickly and pain-free, but you can also buy a performance board right away rather than invest in a beginner board like the Waydoo Evo Max, which you might outgrow in a few weeks to months.

Who is this board not for.

The Evo Pro is a good fit for most riders, but if you're a heavy rider or want something with no change, the Waydoo Max is a better fit. That board will have more volume, stability, and float. You can learn it in minutes compared to the smaller 90-liter board, which would take most a half hour to learn. If you lack balance or skill, the learning curve could be a little longer, but it's worth the effort if you want an exciting board.

Older riders in their 60s or 70s might also consider the Max. That board will float you while standing; you can add handlebars to make it easier. If you're an athlete 60- or 70-year-old, the Waydoo Evo Pro Plus will be a fun challenge and exciting board to get light exercise and balance work.

How did we set up this board?

We used the standard 31 cm mast, the standard propultion system, the prop with a guard, the folding prop, the Jet Drive back to back and larger powerflite 23 battery for our testing. You can pair this board with the folding prop for better wake performance. We used this a lot with our flyer one plus for surfing sessions and it's even better on the Pro Plus.

The ability to configure the board to your liking is really nice and the option to choose the cheaper Pro model over the Plus model is a win for us. If you want to know more about our testing you can call or email me with any questions. My name is Chris and I'm stoked to help you out.
